Banglamung police received a call from a security guard at the Mike Orchid Villas in Soi Khaonoi on the evening of the 1st July to report that a man had been found dead in a fountain in front of the villas.
Police went quickly to the scene with Sawang Boriboon medics to investigate. There they found the body of Mr. Saenghirun, aged 45, lying face down in the water. Nearby was a red Suzuki motorbike which belonged to the deceased. The body was removed from the fountain and there were no apparent signs of any attack. Medics estimated he had died 2 hours previously. The security guard Somkid who found him stated that the man was a motorbike taxi rider outside the villas and quite often he was seen sitting in front of the fountain. The man’s family was contacted and his elderly sister told police that her brother was a sick man and recently was recovering from a stroke. The body was taken...
During the morning of the 1st July, team members from the Amicus Foundation of Thailand, a non-profit making charity organisation,
including its chairman Mr. Matthew Kelly paid a visit to a slum dwelling in Soi 7 off Thepprasit Road in order to donate a number of items to needy people. Useful items such as a sewing machine and a motorbike and side car plus cash donations of 1,000 baht were handed out for students in the dwellings. A further 2,500 baht was given to help a student studying at Burapha University. The donations were made after the Foundation read a story about slum dwellings

Officers at Dongtan sub police station in Jomtien received a report on the afternoon of the 1st July that the body of a woman had been discovered with her throat cut in a bathroom at a house on Thepprasit Road.
Attending the murder scene were Sawang Boriboon medics and a doctor from Banglamung Hospital. There on the floor of the bathroom they found the body of 22 year old Ms Pavinee Rattanachot lying in a pool of blood. She had been savagely attacked by someone with a knife and died from a deep cut to her throat. She was discovered by her boyfriend Watchapong who had returned from visiting his mother. He told the officers that she told him before he left that she was going to have a visit from a man named Golf to do some business about purchasing a ring he had apparently stolen from his mother. As the Pattaya Marathon is on the horizon, a meeting was held at City Hall on the 1st July to discuss safety issues for the racing event.
The Marathon will take place on Sunday, 19th July and so Deputy Mayor Ronnakit Aegesing met up with representatives from the different police departments to discuss public safety and traffic control issues. They also discussed a welcoming party for all the athletes taking part which will take place at Bali Hai on the 18th July.
