Crime Suppression Results
On Monday morning at Pattaya Police Station, Chonburi’s Police Commander, Pol. Maj. Gen. Katcha Tartsart, in companied by the Deputy Chonburi Police Commander Pol. Col. Saipet Seesahng, Pattaya Police Superintendent Pol. Col. Suwan Chiao-su-wan, Banglamung Deputy Police Superintendent Pol. Lt. Col. Jakarin Toursuparb held a press conference to announce the results of Crime Suppression over the past 2 weeks, and 4 offenders were brought out for the press conference.
The Pattaya Police Station announced the arrest of 2 men Supot Uracheun, aged 24 and Wittaya Titapahn, aged 28, who were arrested with a rifle and a Thai-made gun, along with 40 11 mm bullets and 20 12 gage shotgun shells, plus a Yamaha Fino motorcycle, 5 helmets and burglary tools. There were also 23 drug addicts brought out in the press conference.
The Banglamung Police Station announced the arrest of 2 men, K. Narong Pragorbtahm, aged 47, with a shotgun and 14 shotshells, 27 .357 caliber bullets and 28 .38 caliber bullets, and K. Supot Toe-kee-ree, aged 32, caught with a 9 mm gun and 15 bullets.
Chonburi’s Police Commander Pol. Maj. Gen. Katcha Tartsart, revealed that the suppression efforts are still ongoing, following the policy of the Commissioner of the Royal Thai Police Bureau, Pol. Gen. Adoon Saeng-sing-gaew, to reduce crime rates. The results have been dramatic so far, as, within 2 weeks, the average number of crimes by drug addicts has decreased from 20-30 cases per day down to 1-2 cases per day. However, the police still have until February 8th to work on suppressing the crime rate, and find wanted fugitives using arrest warrants. This work will clear Pattaya and the surrounding areas from the troublesome offenders, and bring peace to our lovely resort.
