Two Days at Treasure Hill

P.S.C. Golf from Café Kronborg

Thursday, 31st January:  Treasure Hill (Stableford).   We usually get a good turnout for this Course, and this day was no exception.

The drive up there is getting better and the drive back now is excellent and this makes the Courses in this area much more accessible.

Arriving there, we noticed the car park was empty, so we knew we were in for a quiet day, and so it proved, with a Tee Off on the first and nobody ahead, we were able to zoom around. Mind the wind did blow strongly at times. Ever notice how the wind is much stronger when you play into it than when it is behind? What is more, it always seems against never behind.

The Course at present is in very good condition, everything considered, however they have not marked the hazards as yet, and this always leads to the, 'is it, isn't it' syndrome. It is also noticeable that the caddies do not rake the bunkers, so be warned.

This is a difficult Course so it was not surprising that, with the exception of one score, all the players were beaten by the Course.

In the A Flight, 0 to 18, all places were decided on countback with all the winners scoring 34 points. The winner was Bob Morrison with Dave Richardson in second and Johann Reynisson in third.

In the B Flight, 19 up, we had the one really good score of the day when Brian Blackford came in with 37 points. We then had a countback on 34 points that saw Art Bailey in second and Hugh O'Donnel in third. Then it was the drive back, which was pretty fast.

Monday, 4th February: Treasure Hill (Stableford).

The Course at Treasure Hill was under a light to heavy mist most of the first nine holes. The Course was still in very fine condition considering the very heavy rainfalls over the weekend. The Course was tough and most holes were not giving up much as was reflected in the scores.

Maurice Herberge took the A Flight with 35 points ahead of Steady Ebrahim with 33 points in second and Ted Morris inn third with 30 points on a countback over Jan Anderson.

Graham Buckingham won the B Flight with 33 points with Laurinne Brinne second with 30 points. Jan Lovgren was in third with 29 points on a countback over Leif Kirkegaarde. T.T.F.N.
