A Dave Special

P.S.C. Golf from Café Kronborg Thursday, 22nd May: Greenwood (Stableford). Seems like I have never been away, this being the third game on the trot I have played here.
The test was to be the same, the A & C Nines and on this day we were to play the C Nine first. They do say a change is as good as a rest. Even in the Low Season, this is still a fine place to play 18 holes, and it is. We even played the Monthly Tournament there Friday. The good thing is that usually this is a nice quiet Course, it is always in good nick, and the staff members are pleasant. So why not play it now that the roads are better and it is easy to get to? So we do! On this day we got to the Tee early, like over 1 hour early, a Dave Special. However, as we hoped, the start was free so off we went. The Course was as usual, except the greens were a bit 'tatty', and as such they were difficult to putt on. We also had a strong wind; it seems as if it is always windy here. We got around very fast, so it was not long before we could all meet in the restaurant and see how we all got on. In fact we got on really well, and the winner was Henry O'Brien with 41 points. As is usual Henry is off for a couple of weeks; seems to be what winners do at present. In second with 40 points was Lionel Rowles and in third with 37 points was Peter Singh Basi. 006 Henry O'Brien 008 Lionel Rowles Monday, 26th May: Crystal Bay (Stableford). The Crystal Bay Golf Resort was the site for a Stableford Competition on the A & B Nines. The Course on the day was quite playable even though it was not “Its old pristine self” and they wanted pristine price green fees. However, we did have hot showers for the second time in three years; will miracles never cease? On the day Walter Bachli took first place with 38 points ahead of Peter Singh Basi in second with 33 points on a countback over Takeshi Hakozaki in third. T.T.F.N.
