Everyone was divided into groups to go out and collect the rubbish that has accumulated on the beach shoreline.  A total of 1,500 people, including school children, are estimated to have taken part in the clean up operation along a stretch of 10 kilometers of Pattaya Bay. As this was going on, groups of divers were doing their bit by collecting garbage such as tyres and plastic bottles from the bottom of the sea bed.
