Cherry's Cafe

Cherry’s Restaurant on Third Road recently opened 2 months ago another all round good value branch located on the ground floor in the fashionable LK Renaissance Hotel on Soi Diana Inn.

Set in a comfortable and modern wood decorated room, owner and 5 Star Executive Chef Nattapong and his team have created a new venture called Cherry’s Cafe, producing delicious recipes at an astonishingly low price. Without cutting corners, Nattapong utilizes his many years of expertise and offers top quality fresh ‘in season’ ingredients for his selection of skillfully presented dishes (with the minimum of garnish) to delight the most discerning of palates.   The menu which includes European and Thai cuisine is smaller than at the sister restaurant, but has the advantage of offering a range of good quality (yet budget conscious) help yourself ‘All You Can Eat’ themed buffets each day.  It is all very straightforward; simply help oneself to the Salad Bar together with on Monday different Pasta recipes; Chicken dishes on Tuesday; Curries on Wednesday, and all at 179 baht inclusive!   On Thursday, eat all you want BBQ Ribs is on offer for 295 baht per person.

Then for a mere 269 baht per person on Fridays a range of Seafood is available; on Saturday a fine selection of BBQ Steaks (including T-Bone, Sirloin and Rib Eye) and Chops to hand to the chef for cooking, and finally Sunday there is an eat all you want Carvery of Roast and Baked Meats.   If you don’t wish to try the amazingly priced Buffet then sample something from the equally value conscious Ala Carte menu!   There is an excellent value daily Special Set 5 Course Menu for 269 baht.  Selections of traditional Breakfasts (served from 7am until 3pm) starting at 99 baht.  Soups, Sandwiches, Snacks and Salads are available throughout the day with fresh homemade Soups from 60 baht and Sandwiches and Snacks from 120 baht.  The main course dishes include all the popular meats, fish and seafood, ranging from 159 baht for Baked Sole Fillet to 320 baht for a Japanese delicacy Wagyu Kobe Rump Steak.  There is also a fine selection of Pasta and Risotto dishes to try starting at 140 baht. All the Thai dishes are authentic and range from 150 baht for such favourites as Tom Yum Khung (Spicy Prawn Soup).

And so to the food! We sampled a few dishes from the main menu.   To start we tried two delicious soups, being a very tasty French Onion (60 baht) and the other a first class version of Parmesan Cheese Cream Soup (80 baht) complete with crisp Parmesan and Bacon Crouton topping.   We tried two fine tasting Appetizers, both very nicely presented; Smoked Salmon with Wasabi, Onion and Capers (169 baht) and Parma Ham with Melon (149 baht).   For the main course we tried very tender Baked Chicken Breast served with Curry Cream Sauce and Butter Rice and Glazed Pineapple – very good value at 195 baht.  The other dish can be a nightmare to eat, being tough and greasy, but this version of Braised Lamb Shank (295 baht) was extremely tender and the meat just simply fell off the bone and came with Roast Garlic, Green Asparagus and Penne Pasta.  To end the meal we tried two excellent desserts, Cherry Tart and Apple Pie both served with Vanilla Ice Cream and a cinch at 90 baht each.
Tempting or what!
International Wines are sold from 1,179 baht a bottle and 120 baht a glass.
Cherry’s Cafe is open from 7am until Midnight each and every day.  Free parking is available at side of hotel building.  Telephone: 038 720 720 extension 106.
