Chonburi police investigator Police Lt. Colonel Chaigrit Tonginn and his team made an announcement on the morning of the 11th July about the arrest of a major drug dealer and his partner. Greg Warner (alias Andrew Barber) aged 33 from Canada and Miss Anusara Ronpimai aged 24 were presented to the Media with evidence of a large amount of class 1 and 5 drugs including cocaine and marijuana, rounds of ammunition, a number of passports and 1 million baht cash.
The two had been under police surveillance for some time after a tip off that they were selling drugs to tourists in Pattaya and especially Jomtien where they have lived in luxury accommodation for the past 3 years from the spoils of their lucrative drug business. A search warrant was obtained and police swooped on their house in Soi 6 Pratamnak where Warner/Barber and Ronpimai were found with 3 foreign friends all under the influence of drugs. Besides a large amount of drugs, police seized a car, a number of motorbikes and items worth 10 million baht. Whilst in custody the couple tried to bribe the police with 1 million baht to drop the case; this was also seized and they were also charged with bribery on top of the major drug offences.
