Van Driver Robbed

Man attacked by two teenagers

During the early hours of the 19th October, Dongtan police in Jomtien were notified that a robbery had just occurred outside a convenience store on Soi Chaiyapreuk.

An officer went to investigate and on arrival found 36 year old Mr. Paiboon waiting to give a statement.  He said that he was a driver for a band called Crash and was on his way to their next gig at a venue in Jomtien.  He stopped off at a convenience store when suddenly as he was leaving the van, two teenagers came alongside on a motorbike and one pulled out a gun and threatened him demanding he hand over his belongings.  He was forced to hand over his wallet containing 8,000 baht and a Nokia mobile phone, before the two culprits fled in the direction of Sukhumvit Road.  A radio message was sent out to patrol officers with a description of the young men but unfortunately the two suspects had eluded capture.  A report was made of the incident.
