ATM Card Robber Caught

On November 27, 2009 at 0.20a.m, Pattaya Police arrested a young Thai man, Som-jate Ted-tua, aged 30, a motorbike taxi at in front of Twin Palm hotel on Pattaya Soi 6. The offender had been caught near Pattaya Police Station, during he was riding a motorbike escaped the arrest of Police. 3 weeks ago this offender stole a ATM card of Khun Su-pis-sa-ra Wate-su-won, aged 34, and the victim wrote the code of the card behind the card. The offender withdrew and spent all cash money of 30,000 baht in the account of ATM card. The offender claimed that he did not steal the card of the victim but he found the card near a garbage bin which he thought that the victim may drop or left the card and he saw the code behind the card, at this point he withdrew the money from the ATM machine in front of Fly Bird Condo, South Pattaya, 2 times with the amount of 30,000 Baht and he spent all the money already and the card had been thrown away as well. He did not think that the victim will file a complaint to Police until he was caught and he had been known later that such ATM card belonged to Khun Su-pis-sa-ra whom he knew before. The offender attempted to negotiate with the victim by returning the money to the victim for not laying charge against him. The victim told Police that she forgot the keeping place of her ATM card and she could not find it, however, she did not withhold such card because of her recklessness, until she went to check at the bank and had been told that there was no any money left in her bank account. She then asked for help from the bank staff to check the security camera and it was appeared that the offender was the man whom she knew before, at this point she notified Police and soon the offender had been captured. The offender was charged with theft and now waiting for his Court’s dates. News stories placed on this website are short versions.
