Banglamung police received a call from the Pattaya Memorial Hospital on the morning of the 1st February that a woman had been admitted with a bullet wound. She was not in a critical condition, but would not give a statement as to how the incident occurred. Police arrived and questioned the woman, later identified as 41 year old Miss Chalaoguy. Also present was Mr. Alan Barker from the UK. He stated that he met the woman who worked at a Beach Road beer bar and she agreed to go for a ride on his bike. Whilst they were nearing Soi Siam Country Road, two Thai men approached them in a pickup truck and one of them produced a gun and repeatedly fired at them. One bullet hit the woman and another bullet hit the rear tire of the bike as they quickly fled the scene towards Lake Mabprachan. Police insisted that the woman give a statement, but she refused, so they will wait until she recovers sufficiently before going further into the case.
