Woman robbed in brutal attack

Pattaya police were called to Korpai community on the morning of the 7^th February to investigate a report that a woman had been attacked by a man and robbed of her possessions.  At the scene, 36 year old Khun Somjai stated that earlier she had been drinking with friends, and was on her way home when a Thai man she knew named Yuan approached her and without any provocation he attacked her by repeatedly punching her in the face, causing her to lose consciousness.  He then stole 5,000 baht cash, her mobile phone and ATM card, before running into the nearby forest area.  A two hour search was made of the area but the suspect had managed to flee the scene.
