On Thursday morning police received a report from the owner of Prasopsuk Apartments, that there was a teenager who fired a series of shots in his girlfriend's room. after he came over to beg his girl. The teenager then locked ex girl friend and himself up in the room.
The police swept down on the apartment located near the railway in soi Khao Noy. The hostage, Miss Aronit Kumbang, 24, screamed from the room for help,as she was being threatened.
The people next door to the room were told to stay away as the man, Khun Isarin, the gunman, fired one bullet to scare them.
The police called for backups to secure the place and to control the escalation of the incident.
The police attempted to calm Mr Isarin down, and not hurt the girl. The man was not willing to surrender and barricaded the door of the room with a bed.
One hour later, Mr Isarin let the hostage out on the room's balcony before turning the gun on himself and taking his life.
The police used a ladder to take Miss Aronit from the balcony to safety.
Miss Aronit had already reported to the told police that the man always hit her after drinking beer and taking yaba and he was in an unstable state of mind after they had split up.
