Deputy Mayor assists medical staff on house calls in Thappraya Community
On Monday morning, Deputy Mayor Weerawat Kahkai and the Welfare Department’s staff members went on a very special trip to the Thappraya community near Pratumnak Hill, where they met with community volunteers in response to the “ Home doctor equals a 20,000 bed hospital” policy initiated by City Hall to take care of those in the community who have physical, mental and social problems and may not be able to travel to a clinic. Medical teams conduct “house calls” to check on residents, and provide medication, blood pressure readings and other diagnostic tests.
The deputy mayor helped distribute boxes of supplies and medicines, along with aspirin and paracetamol, to fifteen families, including that of Khun Ratee Delert, 43, who has been a paraplegic for seven years, and her son, who has a cardiac valve disease.
