Stolen car report just a case of poor communication between friends
On Tuesday morning, Pattaya Police received a report of a car theft at the Relax Ad Shop behind TukCom on Pattaya South Rd.
The police gave chase and found the car being driven on Sukhumvit Road towards North Pattaya Rd. Officers stopped the car and arrested the driver and two passengers, and brought them to the station.
The owner of the car, Khun Uthai Chanpukapon, aged 30, was called to identify the vehicle. The three joy-riders, Anucha Chanmani, aged 19, Saming Pomkam, aged 26, and an underage girl, would have encountered charges, but Khun Uthai knew them and decided not to pursue the case.
According to Mr. Anucha, each tried to call the other, but when they couldn’t connect, he simply took the car keys without informing the owner and drove off to see his two friends. The car was reported stolen, and things went downhill from there. Maybe next time, he’ll send a text message!
