Nealy Friday midnight, a group of smoke billow outwards the roof of Big C Super Centre, Pattaya Nua, on the side of Pechtrakun Road. More than five fire engines, medical teams from nearby hospitals and Sawang Boriboon medics, were called to the scene.
Smoke billowed out of the roof of the fourth floor of the building. It was believed that the fire started in a shop where mattresses were stored close to the cinema zone. About ten minutes later, the fire was put out. No one was injured.
It was reported by a shopping centre's technician that on the same day of the incident, about 5 AM, an emergency spotlight inside the store had short circuited melting down on the mattresses and started burning but the shopping centre's fire fighters managed to put it out but the fire had rekindled.
However, the police will find out the cause of the fire again after the scene is clear.
