On early Friday morning at 05:20 AM, Pol. Capt. Na.rong.det Ta.na.poon.sorn, Deputy Suppression Investigator was called TO investigate a chain snatching in Soi 17 at the back of South Pattaya Market. The thief had already been detained by the people there.
When the police arrived, the offender, Mr. Somsak Choomsee or “Oh Walking”, age 27 years, originally from Roi-et province, was detained with the evidence which was a 18 K golden necklace of Mr. Tron Gonnar, Age 57 years from Norway. Mr. Tron was standing right there to verify his gold chain and the offender.
Mr. Somsak confessed that he had making his living by prostitution around the Walking Street and South Pattaya areas. Due to the economic crisis and decreasing numbers of clients, he was forced to find money another way. The gold chain of Mr. Tron caught his eyes, and it was still dark outside, he tried to snatch and run, but Mr. Tron ran after him and screamed for help. Unfortunately for the thief, he was caught right away by the people around the market. He was charged for Snatching and detained for legal procedures.
