Tour Company Owner Caught For Fraud, Stealing Air Ticket Money Worth 10 Milion Baht
On Friday afternoon, the tourist police held a press conference to publicize the ar-restment of Mrs. Suteera Yaem.paeng, age 57 years from Chonburi, owner of Lee Tour Pattaya, located on Naklua road. A warrant for her arrest was issued in June following the for Fraudulence of over 10 million baht worth of International Air Tickets purchase from 65 customers.
The lady was caught in Bangkok by Pattaya Tourist Police after hiding for 4 months. 20 victims attended the press conference to verify the offender as known as “Jay Air” (Jay is a Chinese title for big sister / Air is her nickname). She had run Lee Tour on Naklua road for 15 years, and the tour agent became well-known by foreigners. As the economy was down, she fell into debt and decided to cheat her clients before running away. She assumed the victims would be assisted by Pattaya Tourist Police and City Hall to help the tourists travel back to their countries, before searching for the offender.
“Jay Air” was charged with Public Fraud and sent for further legal proceed-ings.
