The Vegetarian Festival will commence on 7^th of Oct, and run through – 17^th Octo-ber 2010, and most Buddhists in the country will be cleansing their body and mind,  and completing great merit by giving lives to the animals that would have been killed to feed the humans.

On Friday afternoon, at Pattaya City Hall, a meeting was set by the Vegetarian Fes-tival Committee to gather ideas and opinions to prepare for the 2010 Vegetarian Season. The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Mayor Mr. Wattana Jan.ta.na.wa.ra.non and at-tended by relevant departments.

The meeting decided that the Press conference would be held on September 28th, at 6pm at Central Festival Pattaya Beach Mall, and the routes for parade on October 7th would start from the Balihai Pier, proceed through the Walking Street, Beach road, Pat-taya Police Station, then turn on Central road, and walk through Soi Bua Kao before end-ing on 3rd Road.  After that, the parade will board vehicles to start another parade in Naklua at “Sawang Fa” temple. The parade will then walk along Naklua road to “Lan Poe” ground by the old Naklua market, for the ceremony of inviting the “ Giw Uang Hook Joe God and Guan Im Goddess” to stay at Sawang Boriboon Foundation through the whole season for people to pray to.
