On Friday morning, at the Amari Orchid Pattaya Hotel on North Pattaya Road, the Pattaya’s Mayor Ittipon Khunpleum was the Guest of Honor to open the “Rak Loke Art Exhibition”.  “Rak Loke” means saving the world, pronounced the same as “Rak”, which means to love.

This Art Exhibition was initiated by the Onyx Hospitality Group, a leader in the hotel industry, and the Bangkok Educational Promotion Office, to present scholarships to students in primary and secondary levels.  These students were the winners of an Art contest called “ Silp Rak Loke” ( Silp means art),  to publicize the 40th Anniversary of World Environment.

The Amari Orchid Pattaya Hotel, represented by its General Manager- Mr. David Coming, and Mrs. Sara Narisa Nitigarn, Assistant in Guest Relations, provided the location for students’ art exhibitions. All hope that the exhibition will promote art appreciation and an understanding of environmental problems affecting the whole world.

The winning students received scholarships, and this exhibition is part of the “Baht for a Better Life Campaign”. The show will continue until October 31st, 2010 from 09 am – 5 pm daily, at the “Ice Bar”. And, the income from selling these paintings will go to support the “Baht for a Better Life Campaign”.
