On Wednesday afternoon, at the Pattaya City Hall, Deputy Mayor Ronnagit Ekasing held a meeting with the Traffic Control Committee and the Transportation Authority of Pattaya, to deal with the coming high season traffic snarls, backups and general roadway misery which occur every year around this time.
In the coming months the city will host a lot of festivals and special events to attract tourists and generate income, such as the “Chonburi Games” with players and sports fans from around the country gathering in Pattaya for the event. The Deputy Mayor invited Mr. Garn Chalermwongpan, representing the Management of the City Transportation Development Project, to give a presentation and outline traffic issues for those attending the meeting. Pattaya has been installing traffic lights and pedestrian crosswalk lights of late in an attempt to improve the situation for both pedestrians and drivers, but it still looks to be a busy and congested tourist season.
