On Wednesday afternoon, at Green Park resort & Spa located in Naklua, a meeting was held by the Pattaya City Mayor Ittipol Khunpleum and Mr. Jamroon Wisawachaipan – of Tourism Authority and Pattaya Police to discuss the Hostage situation that happened in Philippines killing 8 Chinese tourists to avoid any similar catastrophe here.
 
The Mayor revealed that the tour agency which arranged for the tourists to Philippines was from Thailand which has effected the reputation of the country. Pattaya Police has been concerned and therefore a special force was set up right after the incident in Philippines to be ready for any eventuality in Pattaya. The training program runs every Wednesday and teams would be sent to Gold shops and for Money Delivery Protection services because of the spate of recent Robberies.
