On Monday afternoon, at Pattaya City Hall, the Deputy Mayor Ronnakit Ekasing chaired a meeting to discuss with all relevant authorities for preparations for the forthcoming Chinese New Year Celebrations which are on 14 – 16 February 2011.
The Chinese New Year Committee revealed that the location of this celebration will be at the Balihai Pier which will be transformed into a Chinese village theme to allow all visitors to travel back through time and enjoy old Chinese traditions. The other 4 areas of the city which will be the front of Walking Street, Sukhumvit Road in front of Pattaya Orphanage, in front of “Mareewit School opposite Banglamung Police Station and by the ESSO Gasoline Station, South Pattaya that will also be transformed into Chinese Villages for the convenience of people who reside a long way from the Pier and to prevent traffic congestion in South Pattaya.
The meeting agreed upon traffic control and management procedures under the responsibility of Pattaya Police in cooperation with the Police team from City Hall.
