On Tuesday night, Banglamung Police officers in the area of Soi Nernplubwan 27 approached two motorcycle taxi drivers they thought were behaving suspiciously. One of them managed to get away but officers apprehended the other one and proceeded to search him, finding 25 ya-ba-tablets hidden in a plastic bag in his motorcycle vest. He gave his name as Mr. Teera Sanitsuriwong aged 25 and from the local area. He protested that he was simply hired by someone named Mr. Ohn, who claimed to be a local news reporter, to pick up a package from another man. He said he was on his way to return the package after realizing, to his horror, that the bag contained drugs, but unfortunately he came face to face with the police at that moment. Mr. Teera was visibly upset and remorseful at the police station, and his mother visibly shocked, but officers nevertheless had no choice but to charge him with a Class 1 Narcotics offense, and send him for further processing.
