On Sunday afternoon, Central Center Pattaya Mall in North Pattaya was visited by some of the most beautiful ladies to grace the Loy Kratong holiday weekend. The mall sponsored the 2010 Little Miss Noppamat Beauty Pageant for its Loy Kratong festival, and many families sent their children dressed in glittering Thai traditional costumes and elaborate headpieces. As part of the contest the little girls made kratongs to enter in the competition, using only biodegradable materials, now encouraged as more environmentally safe. The little girls also made hand-painted cards to celebrate the occasion. The Miss Noppamat contest is a traditional beauty pageant held annually in every province and city for Loy Kratong, and really illustrates the beauty of both Thai culture, spectacular Thai traditional dress, and of course, the natural beauty of Thai ladies, big and small.
