On Friday evening, by the Fountain area of the Royal Garden Plaza, the Mayor Ittipon Khunpleum, the General Manager of the mall Mr. Somporn Narkseutrong and the President of the Orchid Association, Mr. Wicha Golomsiwagaset, were the Guests of Honor to open the “Pattaya Grand Tropical Garden Fair”. The whole area had been magically transformed into a tropical garden, full of rare flowers from many countries in the tropics, including many species of orchids, the high-light of the exhibition.
The Royal Garden Plaza, Pattaya City Hall, Nong Nooch Tropical Garden and the Flower Association Eastern Region, all cooperated to create this most roman-tic setting. The flowery Fair started on Thursday, and will continue until Monday, 29th November. Flower lovers were amazed by the variety of blooms, and the competition to find the finest rare orchid in Thailand found an outstanding win-ner, the “Tae Ueung Sai Set Variety” of Mr. Sutep Suksagat, who was awarded 10,000 Baht from the Mayor.
The other focal point of the show was the “Siamese Twin Coconut” from Seychelles Island, located in the Indian Ocean off the African Coast. These coco-nuts cost 40,000 Baht per coconut, and produce their fruit only every 20 years. The coconut tree itself costs over 1 million Baht !
Mr. “Go - Sax Man” also entertained the visitors with his romantic melo-dies, making the Ground floor of Royal Garden Plaza the most romantic place to be in Pattaya until the finale on Monday night.
