On Friday night, the Head of the Cosmetics Department of Central Festival Pattaya Beach Mall, Miss Wiyada Aranchote, aged 35 from Sattahip, and the Security Guards from the mall, brought a Russian Tourist Mr. Pavel Vladimirovich, aged 30, to the police. He had been apprehended with two bottles of Dior perfume costing over 3,000 Baht each, and the guards were carrying the evidence of one broken bottle of the perfume.
Mr. Pavel was caught after swiping the two bottles of perfume before he managed to leave the mall. He had entered the mall with two friends, a man and a woman. Mr. Pavel was seen pocketing the two bottles of perfume by a security guard, before pretending to continue shopping in the Cosmetics Department on 1st floor.
When they started to leave the mall and walked down to the Ground floor, they noticed the security guards were following them. The culprit tried to pass the perfume bottles to one of his friends, and finally, when the guards reached them, he threw both bottles on the floor, and shouted that he had nothing to do with stealing them.
But the evidence was altogether clear to prove the Theft. Mr. Pavel stated that the two friends had nothing to do with the robbery; therefore the police released them before dealing with Mr. Pavel. The mall employees finally convinced Mr. Pavel to pay the 6,300 Baht for the perfumes, to be freed from the charge, and so, he finally agreed to pay up
