On Saturday morning at the beach in front of Central Festival Pattaya Beach Mall, the Grand Opening of the new Marine Police Service Center was held by the Deputy Superintendent of the Marine Police, Col. Chainarong Limpiteep in cooperation with Pattaya City Hall, represented by Mayor Ittipol Khunplume. Many honorable guests attended the ceremony, including Deputy Mayor Ronnagit Ekasing, Marine Police Inspector Lt. Col. Chayapol Yaiying, and the General Manager of Central Festival Pattaya Beach Mall Mr. Saran Tantijamnan.
Following the policy set forth by the Royal Thai Police Bureau to improve the safety and security of all citizens, the Marine Police have initiated a brand new project called “Jit Asa” which translates as “doing something from the heart”. The program involves enlisting civilian volunteers to work closely with the police in assisting tourists and residents. Many service spots have been set up to facilitate this mission and volunteers will be walking and driving motorcycles around the city in order to assist tourists in need.
