The Asian Star Cricket Club celebrated the new year on 29^th December at the Mumbai Magic restaurant at Naklua. The event was sponsored by Mr Salman R Khan from the Fiesta Event Management company & Mr Amit,  the proprietor  of this outstanding Indian food restaurant in Pattaya, Mumbai Magic.

The Asian Star Cricket club started in 2010 with the objective of promoting cricket in Chonburi, and spreading brotherhood and friendship in the South-Asian communities residing in Pattaya. This Club has emerged as the leading Cricket club in Thailand in a mere 9 months since its inception.  The Club made a big mark in Thailand’s cricket circle by winning the T20 Tournament organized by the Southerners Cricket Club in Bangkok, and winning the Fiesta Cricket tournament in Pattaya. In 2010, Asian Star has played 13 games winning 8.  The club also participated in the prestigious Bangkok Cricket league, winning 2 of their league matches out of 3. Asian Star managers, Komal Agarwal & Ajay Bijwe, applauded the performances in 2010 and recognized the efforts of the outstanding players from the club.  Mazahar Ali Mughal won the Player of Year 2010 award by scoring 445 runs, and Ajay Bijwe was the second leading scorer with 290 runs.

Horse Shoe Point has been a major force in promoting cricket in our Area and Asian Star  acknowledged this support by presenting a special award to Mr Akrin on behalf of Horse Shoe Point.

The Asian Star Cricket Club, in association with Horse Shoe Point, will continue to  promote cricket in Pattaya. Horse Shoe Point is also planning to construct a fully dedicated cricket ground in the near future, and offer  training for youngsters and sports enthusiasts.
