On Friday night (31^st) at Balihai Pier, the traffic was heavy, as expected, as hundreds of thousands of people gathered by the pier to wait for the Grand Countdown to the New Year. Pattaya is well known as the top city for fireworks in South East Asia, and welcoming the new year in great style.

Extravagant and colorful Performances were staged by many famous Thai bands, including “Bodyslam”, to blast out the old 2010 and welcome the brand new baby of 2011.  The highlight of the evening was the fireworks, of course.  Pattaya has never let its fans down, and so this year, thousands of sparklers, crackers and fireworks lit up the beaches and the night sky, from Naklua to NaJomtien, to welcome the start of the New Year.
