On Monday afternoon, the Police Inspector Pol. Capt. Nitipoom Bootwong from Banglamung was called to investigate an alleged murder of a Thai man in a rented apartment located on Naklua Road.
At the scene, the body of Mr. Atsamee Meuya, aged 35 from Yala province laid on the floor covered in blood , having been stabbed five times. There was blood splashed on the wall and the room was in complete disarray from what appeared to have been a struggle.
Mrs. Tongkoon Grokkratoke, from Nakhon Ratchasima reported to the police that she and Mr. Atsamee had started seeing each other just over a month ago as she had ended the relationship with her motorcycle taxi driver ex-husband.
The murder happened at the room after Mrs. Tongkoon and Mr. Atsamee returned home together after celebrating the New Year at Mr. Atsamee’s hometown. Her ex-husband Mr. Soottang was sitting and waiting in their room. Mr. Soottang asked to have a private moment to talk with his ex-wife and asked her to come back to him.
She declined which angered the ex husband who then pulled our a large knife and stabbed Mr. Atsamee without hesitation and killed him, before running away. Mrs. Tongkoon had to run away to save herself while screaming for help.
The police inspected the room and surrounding area before setting up a search to locate the killer.
