On Saturday afternoon (15th), at Tiffany’s Entertainment Hall, a Festival of Traditional Thai Performances was held to promote traditional Thai recitals to the new generation and the international audience. Many time-honored musical pieces and dances were performed by famous groups, such as the “Kone performance” originally for the Royal Family to watch, “Pleng Choi” featuring musical rhymes symbolizing Supanburi province, and a “Glong Yaao concert”, using long tail drums and dancers.
Mayor Ittipon Khunpleum, the Tourism and Sport Minister His Excellency Sontaya Khunpleum, the President of Lions Club Pratamnak Pattaya, Mrs. Rungtip Suksrigan and the Chairperson of Cultural Council of Pattaya Mrs. Naowarat Kahkai officiated at The Opening Ceremony.
The aim of this festival was to collect money to help the less fortunate people in the communities, and also create a budget for preservation of traditional performances for future generations.
