On Tuesday afternoon, team of Banglamung police and police volunteers were setting up a checkpoint by the Railway Road opposite Bangkok Hospital Pattaya 2 teenagers on a gray Honda Wave motorcycle were driving toward the checkpoint and the police saw that they tried to U turn and drive away.
The police and volunteers managed to block the motorcycle but only the passenger was apprehended when trying to ran away, while the driver ran into the bushes by the road.
The police had followed the teenager who started shooting at the police who then retaliated. A short while later, the police found the body of the teenager identified as Mr. Sarawut Rattanapahira AKA “ Jet Wattam” who had been shot in the head and chest. He was holding a 9 mm automatic in his right hand.
Five empty shells were found near his body. The police sent the body to Banglamung Hospital for death verification before questioning the passenger who has been apprehended earlier. He was as Mr. Jairayu Luangsakda, aged 25 from Banglamung. He was found with a shot gun and ammunition and a bag containing a .22 Thai gun which he had thrown them away while he was running away but the police managed to find them.
Jairayu was taken to the Banglamung Police Station and further investigation and questionings.
