On Wednesday after midnight, Pattaya were informed by an employee of Lotus, North Pattaya that a man, later identified as Mr. Danai Tawongsa, aged 25 from Udon Thani Province, was arrested trying to steal an electric drill from the store.
 
The police reached the store to meet with the Assistant Manager and the security guard who managed to catch Mr. Danai in possession of the two stolen drills worth 5,200 Baht in total.
 
Mr. Danai was spotted entering the department store with a 3 year old girl and kept walking in and out of the toilets many times suspiciously. When he walked out the store, the security guard asked to search him and an electric drill was found. The guard did his job well and checked the toilet where another drill was found.
 
Mr. Danai was given an option to pay for the goods or go to at police station but he did not have money as he tried to steal the drills to sell them for the fare back home in Chantaburi Province. The goods were returned and the store did not prosecute.
