On Saturday Pattaya’s Radio Station 96 FM relayed an SOS for Type A Negative Blood to save the life of an injured man whose treatment so far, had exhausted the supply of this rare blood in the capital.
After an amazing response from listeners, Lizzie Bourke and Val Johnston went to Bangkok’s Famous Heart Hospital and gave blood to save the life of Mr. Jeremy Minchin, who had been critically injured in Nepal whilst hang-gliding.
He had sustained heart injuries, ruptured his spleen, broken nine ribs, his pelvis, damaged his hip and dampened his enthusiasm for hang-gliding, but he survived a traumatic flight to New Delhi and then to Bangkok.
He has now received a life saving operation and surgeons are confident his recovery is on track, thanks to these two wonderful ladies and their very supportive families.
