On Thursday at 3 am, Pattaya Police set up a checkpoint in the middle of Soi Buakhao at which nine people were caught having been tested for drug usage, The eight men and one women were taken into custody.
 
Eight motorcycles were impounded and their owners fined for non-renewal of tax and some of them were impounded waiting for proof o ownership.
 
The police are making it clear that they will be more strict with Traffic Law Violations during the Songkran Period as many accidents occur during this festival and all officials and volunteers will be assigned to stand by to assist the Banglamung Police and Pattaya Police as they will have to work closely together. especially in Pattaya at the height of the celebrations.
