The magnificent wooden structure, The Sanctuary of Truth in Naklua conducted their own Songkran ceremony on Thursday morning for the staff and visiting tourists to get their share of blessings for the coming Thai New Year.
The ceremony started inside this mammoth construction with water sprinkling and a blessing. Then outside, another Thai tradition during Songkran took place, the building of sand castles created by the groups of people. Sand castles sprang up in many shapes and styles as sand castle contests are very popular during the Songkran Festival.
The celebrations will be open for everyone until April 19th from 8:30 am - 6 pm for tourists to learn about this and other traditional Songkran ceremonies by guides provided by the Sanctuary of Truth.
