The Legal Division of the Dept. of Special Investigations, under the supervision of the Chief of DSI’s Eastern Region, Mr. Prawit Chai-bua-daeng , conducted a training program on Friday at J A Villas in North Pattaya. The purpose of the seminar was to instruct a group of 50 officials on the relevant laws and procedures for entering premises for searching, techniques for tracing suspects, and searching & scanning methods. These instructions are to help officials with cases relating to the Security and Defense of the country, including special cases involving misconduct of state officials or the people being treated unfairly.
This instruction was initiated by the Chief of DSI Mr. Tarit Pengdit. He sought qualified candidates for this training, examining the personal history of each applicant. The 50 trainees who will be trusted by DSI were chosen from over 100 applicants since the beginning of 2011.
The DSI has performed its duty very well in the past, such as cracking down on Illegal Mining in Prachinburi Province, Human trafficking, Money Laundering and Pirated Products. The DSI has also cleared intruders from National Parks in the Eastern part of Thailand, and every case took less than 1 month of investigation by DSI.
The DSI also works to deter International Criminals and Mafias, which mostly appear in Pattaya, as emphasized by the Justice Minister, His Excellency Peerapan Saleeratwipak and the Chief of DSI Mr. Tarit Pengdit. DSI Call Center opened 24 hours at 086 – 84 83 555 or 1202 Ext. 8815.
