Reva at Ravindra

This time, a visit to a delightful 4 star oasis by the sea, where 15 minutes outside the bustle of Pattaya is the Ravindra Beach Resort and Spa, in Na Jomtien!   Even though there are plenty of activities going on at this splendid beachside resort, the whole place radiates a truly peaceful atmosphere that makes sure guests relax and enjoy themselves.

The same can be said of their diverse dining facilities, one of which we had the pleasure of discovering – the Reva Beach Restaurant.  Located at a perfect position in front of their private beach, Reva, with bright modern decor, sets the scene by presenting an enviable view across the bay from nearby Ban Amphur to Pattaya.

The heart of any restaurant is the menu – and here at Reva, Chef Adulsak Tosounjit has created a good balanced fusion of Thai and Western dishes.  Be it a snack, sandwich, or full course meal, all dishes are prepared with the freshest and finest ingredients.  Appetizers from 120 baht for Vegetable Spring Rolls to 240 baht for Cobb Salad with Chicken, Avocado, Lettuce and Blue Cheese.  Soups start at 140 baht for Soup of the Day to popular Tom Yam Khung (280 baht) Spicy Prawn Soup with Galangal and Lemongrass. Homemade Burgers and freshly cut Sandwiches, such as Smoked Turkey Breast and Bacon are 220 baht, and choice of Pasta and Pizzas are around 250 baht a portion.   There is a wide choice of main course dishes, with Steaks from the Grill such as Rib Eye (350 baht) and Tenderloin (480 baht). Other steaks include Grilled Lamb (450 baht) and Pork Tenderloin at 250 baht; with fresh Seafood and Fish sold by weight.

We began with Satay Ruan (150 baht) – skewers of tender char grilled Chicken pieces with Peanut Sauce and Cucumber Relish.   The chef’s Caesar Salad (200 baht) is also very good, made in classic style with Romaine Lettuce, Crispy Bacon, Anchovies, Croutons and Parmesan Cream Dressing.  So too, are his tasty Pork Spare Ribs (240 baht), coated in a Honey Sauce, served with Potato Wedges and Mixed Salad.  We had to try a Pizza – so opted for the classic Margherita (260 baht) – a delicious light and crispy base with mounds of Mozzarella Cheese and Tomatoes on top.   Another classic dish to try is Singapore Noodles (150 baht), a stir fry with Curry flavoured Egg Vermicelli Noodles, Shitake Mushrooms, Bean Sprouts, Soy and slices of Duck breast.  As if this was not enough, we were then treated to a Seafood and Fish duo.  Butter Grilled Jumbo Tiger Prawns (350 baht) – succulent, with plenty of meat, these large Prawns come with a flavorsome Lobster and Tomato Risotto, Cherry Tomatoes, Asparagus, and a terrific Pesto and Orange Dressing.  Not to be outdone, the Herb Crusted Ahi Tuna Steak (280 baht) was also first class, cooked medium rare to bring out the full flavour of this fine meaty fish, and served with an unusual accompaniment of Turmeric Mashed Potato, Asparagus, and Caper and Tangerine Vinaigrette.

All in all, our meal at Reva provided a first class dining experience.  So, come along to Ravindra, enjoy the activities, the peace and quiet, and end by treating yourself to a delicious meal at sunset in the Reva Beach Restaurant.
