After the Friday Seminar for Teachers, Deputy Mayor Wattana Jan-ta-na-wa-raa-non was questioned about teachers who seemed to react inappropriately, after being questioned by reporters about a case of rape at the school. The truth was that the teachers have known about the case, but tried to hide it from the girl’s parents and the public, in order to maintain a good impression of the school.
 
The Deputy Mayor stated that the case is being investigated, and further actions will be taken as soon as the results of the physical inspection are available. Mr. Wattana said that the Pattaya Police are meticulously following up with this case, and the information concerning this matter should be given to the public in an appropriate manner, as the injured party is a girl student, who could be badly damaged if the news is publicized inappropriately.
