Premiership Football Restaurant

This week we went along to a very unusual and entertaining sport themed restaurant on the Naklua Road called Premiership Football and as the name implies the whole place is dedicated to the beautiful game of football.

This bright new restaurant has only been open for 3 weeks is 50 yards up from the Dolphin Roundabout opposite the Woodlands Resort and is run by friendly Brits, Glenda Sponder and Scott Conway who also have another similarly football themed Premiership Football Restaurant in Soi Diana Inn, off 2nd Road.  The only difference is that the Naklua venue is larger and offers much more with a large playing area with extra pool tables and electronic darts for customers to enjoy.  The spacious down to earth restaurant is very unpretentious in its layout with televisions and large projection screens scattered throughout, playing big screen football action and all other major sporting events using dual satellite systems, 24 hours a day.  The walls are covered with framed photographs and posters of famou
s football stars and teams, past and present; together with signed football memorabilia such as football shirts and models of international football players.  The Premiership can seat up to 150 customers as it also has a very relaxing upstairs function room if there is an overflow of guests or for private parties.   The extensive reasonably priced menu offers a great range of international dishes all with a football themed name, such as Footballers All Day Breakfast at 115 baht, a good offering of Burgers including the massive Gunners BLT Burger at 195 baht, and a great selection of Penalty Pies with Fries at 225 baht, Shearers Sausage Sandwich and Premiership T-bone Steak, Beatties Bangers and Mash, Swedish Meatballs, Chicken Kiev, Mexican Fajitas and Stadium Salad. The list is endless.  There is also a very extensive authentic Thai menu.

We chose 5 different recipes; Joe Coles Shepherds Pie, which was a bowl filled with very good quality meat, vegetables and gravy smothered with creamy mashed potato and melted cheese.  A very good English style recipe of Pork Chop and vegetables and Bisto gravy.   Traditional Fish and Chips and Peas, (250 baht) which was a very generous portion of succulent Cod coated in crisp batter with wonderful tasting chips.  A delicious Wigans BLT, (105 baht) a large fresh bap filled with Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato.  And finally, a traditional Thai dish called Phad Thai (95 baht) which is a great tasting noodle, prawns and pork recipe.  For dessert we had a very tempting ice cream Sundae called Chocolate Explosion, a blend of vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and chocolate sauce.  And finally, a delicious pancake filled with vanilla ice cream and coated with mixed fruit and chocolate sauce.   So, the food is great the place is great and if you have a passion for footie then you will certainly love this championship venu
