Pattaya Mayor Ittipol Khunplume paid a visit on Thursday afternoon to the Surf Kitchen restaurant on Jomtien Beach Road to attend a press conference and congratulate a young sports star.  Attending was Miss Siriporn Gaew-duang-ngam, better known as Nong Dao who recently won 2nd place in the under 18s World Windsurfing Championships held in the seaside city of Zadar in the Republic of Croatia.  As president of the Windsurfing Association of Pattaya, Mayor Ittipol congratulated the young athlete and presented her with 100,000 baht prize money. He also announced that Nong Dao will be sent to Perth in Australia for pre-Olympics trials in December, and that two other windsurfers, Mr. Ek Boonsawat and Miss Napalai Tarnsai will be sent to London this week to join in Olympic warm up test events being held on the coast near the city.
