On Sunday night, Pattaya Police supervised by the Investigation Inspector Pol. Lt. Col. Anuchaid Gad-som-boon assisted by the Deputy Suppression Inspector Pol. Capt. Somchai Chai-ka-na-nu-goon were called to investigate a shooting at Maimahn Karaoke bar, located in Soi Boon Kanchanaram Temple. A man was reported shot and in a coma.
At the scene, Mr. Prasit Meun-suk, aged 28 from Lopburi province, was found sitting collapsed in a semi-conscious condition, with over 50 gunshot wounds on his chest, shoulders and neck. His wife Miss Renu Pochai, aged 32 and the lady owner Mrs. Tong-rian Mai-mahn, aged 53 were trying to help him, and there were many spent bullets on the floor. The Sawang Boriboon Rescue Team was contacted to take Mr. Prasit to Banglamung Hospital immediately.
Witnesses stated that 2 men on a black Honda Click came around the front of the Karaoke Bar 2 times, then stopped to send a passenger into the bar. The man approached Mr. Prasit and, without warning, he pulled out a pistol and shot Mr. Prasit in his chest, before jumping on the motorcycle and driving away heading to Jomtien Beach.
The police assume that an old enemy or conflict of interest caused the assault, and further investigations will continue.
