School Programme to Monitor Dengue Fever

Results of a recent health programme were released at Pattaya City Hall on Wednesday regarding the dreaded disease dengue fever. The meeting was presided over by Deputy Mayor Wuttisak Leamkitjakarn and attended by groups of students from all Pattaya schools who got involved in the programme to monitor dengue fever in Pattaya and surrounding areas since March 2011.  The results proved quite promising in helping to eradicate the disease, which showed that it was on the decrease, since stringent health and precautionary measures have been taken by local authorities to control the spread of mosquito nests and potential outbreak of dengue in the region. Teams taking part in the programme were awarded cash prizes from 3,000 to 1,500 baht.
