Deputy Mayor Ronnakit Ekasing informed relevant authorities and the Ganesh Believers Club that the Ceremony to honor Ganesh needed to be postponed. Originally scheduled to be held from August 10th to September 1st at the Jomtien Activity Ground, there was concern that the location might be considered very inappropriate. Hosting the observance on the beach with many people dressed in only swim suits and bikinis would seem out of place for a religious rite.
 
A new location will be designated for the ceremony shortly, and the Ganesh followers agreed to the postponement.
