Pattaya Police together with Sawang Boriboon were called to investigate the apparent suicide of a Swiss man – 40 year old Mr. Jurg Buchs – at a rented room on Second Road.  At the scene, the team found the semi naked body on the balcony. According to his girlfriend Mrs. Jamrern Long, he had hung himself with a belt from a steel rail.  She tried to help but it was too late.  The couple had been in a relationship for 4 months and had just moved to this room. They had just had an argument over who was to go fetch drinking water as she refused and carried on sleeping.  She awoke to find the man had hung himself.   Police found a quantity of marihuana in the room and other drug taking paraphernalia.  The police sent the body to the forensic lab in Bangkok and the Swiss Embassy has been notified.
