The annual tradition of holding a Vegetarian Festival began on Sunday morning at the Rasamee Maneerat Foundation in Ang Sila district of Sriracha.  The ceremony was opened by HRH Princess Somsawalee to start the 10 day merit making period of not eating meat and by-products such as eggs and milk by all practicing Chinese Thai Buddhists. Together with Chonburi Governor Mr. Wichit Chatpaisan, the princess lit candles at the statue of Buddha before vegetarian food was handed out to the people attending.
