On Wednesday, the Khao Kiaw Police Sub-station officers led by Pol. Capt. Supagit Goh-ngan were called to investigate and assist with and accident on Route 7, on the inbound to Bangkok side, in the Nongkam Sub-district of Chonburi. 2 people were reported injured severely, and trapped in their vehicles.
The Sawang Prateep Rescue Team was also called to help, as the accident involved a medium sized truck, a pickup truck and 2 container tractor-trailer trucks. The Hino truck had smashed into the back of one of the tractor-trailers, and that one was slammed by another container hauling truck. At the scene, the driver of the Hino truck Mr. Peerapon Sak-bu-ra-na-pet, aged 26 and Mr. Soengwut Siriwan, aged 32 were found in a coma inside the wrecked truck. The Hino had crashed into the back of a white Isuzu tractor-trailer driven by Mr. Iam Potisit, aged 57. The Hino truck also was smashed in the back by a gray Nissan tractor trailer driven by Mr. Chaiya Pranarat, aged 44. The Nissan in turn was also hit in the rear by a gold colored Thai-rung truck.
It took the rescue team over 30 minutes to rescue the two men from the wreck on the Hino. They had lost a lot of blood, and were in a state of shock. They were separately sent to Ao-u-dom and Sriracha Hospitals, as the traffic was very bad, so the rescuers had to make the best decision for this life-threatening situation. Further investigations will follow.
