It was a lunchtime visit to experience the gastronomic delights with the return of Beni’s Brunch available every Saturday at the world famous ‘Eatertainment’ Benihana Japanese Restaurant on the second floor of Royal Garden Plaza. Benihana (Red Flower) still presents every day its customary culinary showcase of combining great food with personal entertainment via the expertise of one’s very own chef. The good news is that every Saturday, the popular Beni’s Brunch has returned to this exciting first class eaterie. The decor has been subtly changed for the occasion with the Brunch Squad, the height of sophistication, attired in black and red to match the surroundings and the resident band Yuri and Friends playing live jazz puts all the guests ‘in the mood’ as they stroll in. Besides the customary sit down service with personal chef combining choreographed fast and furious preparation and entertaining expert cutting and cooking skills on the hibachi grill from a set menu with dishes such as bite size cuts of quality Wagyu Beef and Fois Gras, there are numerous food and cooking stations to visit with an abundance of fresh food items to pick and enjoy. First off one should head to the Juice Bar Station and try one of the fruit Smoothies, especially the house signature drink the ‘Beni Bang-Bang Smoothie’ – combining grilled Banana and Ice-Cream! For an alcoholic treat go for a first class made to order Bloody Mary (Russian Vodka and freshly squeezed Tomato Juice). Then it is time to wander around and choose at leisure the fantastic spread of delicacies such as Sushi, Maki and Sashimi. Or take a trip to the Tempura Station where Prawns, Squid and Vegetables await to be transformed into delicious battered delicacies. Next door is the Grill Station with a wide selection of Tenderloin Beef, Lamb Cutlets, Pork Tenderloin, Chicken Breast, Scallops, Salmon, Tuna and Prawns ready to be cooked to order. Around the corner is the Seafood Station with an abundance of cooked delights such as Rock Lobster, New Zealand Mussels, Blue Crab and a terrific multi coloured Caviar selection to drool over. There is also a first class Salad Station providing Greek Salad, Smoked Salmon Salad, Caesar Salad, and of course the classic Prawn Cocktail. Don’t forget the Bread Station with a wonderful mix of different breads, be it Rye or Russian or Danish loafs, plus Bagels and Rolls to go with the excellent selection of international Cheeses and Cold Cuts at the nearby station. After all that, make a dive for the Dessert trolley with a tantalizing selection of Cheese Cakes, Pastries, Mousses, Creme Brule and a fiendish Chocolate Cake to die for! So, what will you be paying for all this superb cuisine? 1,100 baht per person, and if you add 500 baht you get a free flow of excellent wine or beer! So it is welcome back to Beni’s Brunch and the incredible Brunch Squad. Every Saturday from 11am to 3pm. Telephone: 038 412 120 extension 1395.
