On Sunday, the weather report warned all boats to stay ashore, especially the small and fishing boats. The majority of Siriacha’s fishermen hesitated to motor outside the bay, as the waves were 2-3 meters high due to the high winds. It would be very risky to fish in such rough waters; furthermore,  the stock of fish in the bay has decreased of late, causing higher prices in the market.
 
A fisherman Mr. Somjit Sonjai stated that it has been very cool, even downright cold this winter, and the waves and wind have been stronger than in previous years.  The fishing fleet has had to take a break for safety reasons, and it does not look good for the near future.
