Two French Tourists Arrested For Skimming ATM Cards
On Saturday afternoon at Thailand’s Transnational Crime Coordination Center, located in Chonburi’s Provincial Station, the Commissioner of Royal Thai Police Bureau Region 2, Pol. Lt. Gen. Dr. Pahn-ya Ma-men and his team, held a press conference to announce the successful arrest of 2 French tourists. These offenders were charged with skimming cash from other people’s accounts, using fake cards placed in ATM’s, which earned these thieves millions of baht while in Thailand.
Mr. Nagim Hassainia, aged 33 and Mr. Samir Raihane, aged 41 were being tracked by the police for a while, and they were finally caught with 31 fake ATM and credit cards, 125,000 Baht cash, plus a notebook and a tablet computer.
These 2 criminals blended in with tourists in Pattaya for a while, but the police were on their trail starting in Chiang Mai, Phuket and other tourist areas, working on collecting enough evidence to nail these 2 creeps. These slimeballs installed skimmers at ATM machines, which took pictures of the victims’ ATM cards. Then they produced fake ATM cards to withdraw the money out of the victims’ accounts. Further investigations will be made.
